Join the Friends of Wisdom Prairie members for their Annual Meeting and Dinner Lecture at Holy Wisdom Monastery, 4200 County Road M, Middleton, WI
 5:30 pm – Assemble for wine, beer and conversation
 6:00 pm – Dinner
 6:45 pm – Annual Meeting to elect members of the Friends of Wisdom Prairie Council and celebrate the year’s accomplishments
 7:00 pm – Speaker: Stanley Temple

The Passenger Pigeon’s Extinction: Lessons from the Past for a Sustainable Future
In 1914 the last passenger pigeon died in the Cincinnati Zoo. Stanley Temple will teach us about the crisis of species’ extinction and what we can learn from this as we try and live sustainable lives 100 years later.

Stanley Temple, is the Beers-Bascom Professor Emeritus in Conservation at the University of Wisconsin Madison, the faculty position once held by Aldo Leopold. He is currently Senior Fellow at the Aldo Leopold Foundation.

Cost: $25 donation/person ($9 tax deductible)

2014 DMI Annual Dinner

Downtown Madison, Inc. (DMI) is holding its 2014 Annual Dinner on Wednesday, November 19th from 5:00-8:30pm at the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center. The dinner will feature keynote speaker, R.T. Rybak, the former Mayor of Minneapolis and a nationally known authority on urban trends and issues who will provide a look into how cities and downtowns are positioning themselves to remain sustainable and thriving in an increasingly competitive world. Join local celebrity servers as they support United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Dane County (UCP) at UCP’s 28th Annual Celebrity Banquet & Auction on Saturday, February 21, 2015, at Blackhawk Country Club. The evening will kick-off with a cocktail reception at 5:30 followed by a silent auction, dinner and celebrity games.

For more than 25 years, UCP’s Celebrity Banquet and Auction has been one of Madison’s most memorable and enduring charity benefits. As the signature fundraising event for UCP, the Celebrity Banquet is fundamental to the programs and services we provide to more than 1,500 children and adults with disabilities throughout southern Wisconsin.

Some 40 local celebrities help UCP host this exciting event each year.
