9/11 NEVER FORGET Traveling Exhibit

Date(s): 9/8/2014

1-7 pm

Verona Public Library, 500 Silent St., Verona, WI 53593
The 9/11 NEVER FORGET traveling exhibit will be on display for one day only at the Verona Public Library on Monday, September 8, from 1 to 7 p.m. This exhibit was created by the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation as a tribute to all those who sacrificed on September 11, 2001. The exhibit also serves as a tool to educate America’s youth about the historic events of that day. The memorial provides interactive education; including artifacts, news and video recordings, and live tours from FDNY heroes who were eye witnesses to the events of 9/11. Firefighters selected the artifacts that are in the exhibit.

Stephen Siller was a firefighter who lost his life on 9/11. Established in his memory, the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation is committed to ensuring WE NEVER FORGET and that America’s youth understand the sacrifice of many on that day. Since everyone does not have the opportunity to visit the National 9/11 Memorial and Museum in New York, one of the foundation’s goals is to bring the exhibit to the public.

The exhibit is mounted in a state-of-the-art expandable semi-trailer and serves as a walk-through mini-museum. This one-day showing is the only stop in Wisconsin for the exhibit.

The 9/11 NEVER FORGET Exhibit is presented in cooperation with local sponsors: Capitol Bank, Gary Waldhart Family, Holiday Inn Express & Suites, Kiwanis of Verona, Paul Davis Restoration of Lakeland Counties, State Bank of Cross Plains, Verona Area Chamber of Commerce, Verona Firefighters Association, Verona Knights of Columbus, and Verona Lions Club.

The exhibit is free and open to the public. For information, visit www.veronapubliclibrary.org, or call 608-845-7180. The Verona Public Library is located at 500 Silent Street.
