The Power and the Passion to Create: Photography and Filmed Sessions by Norman Seeff - Lecture and Opening Reception

What do we learn by watching the great innovative creators in the act of creation? The answers are both surprising and illuminating. They also confound the common myths and assumptions about the fundamental nature of the creative process. Norman Seeff, photographer and filmmaker, has documented hundreds of his photo-sessions with luminaries such as Martin Scorsese, The Rolling Stones, will.i.am, Sir Francis Crick and many more. Seeff will share his journey to discovering the secrets of empowering personal and collective creativity in his lecture, The Power and the Passion to Create, on October 7 at 3:30pm. The art exhibit opening reception will follow from 4:30 - 6:30pm. The events are open to the public.

Dr. Robert McGrath is the Coordinator of UW Mind-Body Wellness Services with specialties in Health and Positive Psychology, Stress and Sleep Management, and Meditation. Dr. McGrath identifies as a Positive Psychologist, the group that started realizing that focusing on the positive areas of HAPPINESS, THRIVING, GRATITUDE, MEDITATION and HEALTHY LIVING is more effective and uplifting than staying focused on the not-so-positive areas.
