On Sept. 26, 1864, “Old Abe,” the bald eagle mascot of the 8th Wisconsin, returned home after serving at the front for three years during the Civil War. To commemorate the 150th anniversary of this important event, the Wisconsin Veterans Museum welcomes a bald eagle from the National Eagle Center in Wabash, Minnesota. Get up close to our national emblem and enjoy an educational presentation about bald eagle care. Photo opportunities available.

On Golden Pond focuses on aging couple Ethel and Norman Thayer, who spend each summer at their home on a lake called Golden Pond. During the year the story takes place, they are visited by daughter Chelsea with her fiancé and his son. The play explores the often turbulent relationship the young woman shared with her father growing up, and the difficulties faced by a couple in the twilight years of a long marriage.

Mom & Baby Yoga


Location: Meriter Business Center, 2650 Novation Pkwy, Madison
An interactive mom and baby class where baby is incorporated into yoga poses. Mom will experience gentle strengthening, stretching, and bonding with her baby. No experience necessary. Please bring a blanket or yoga mat. Babies are welcome to nurse, snack, nap or play with toys. Babies up to 1 year of age are welcome.

Cost: $60/6-week program (includes Mom and Baby)

Class is eligible for reimbursement through Physicians Plus, Unity and GHC.

2014 Steadicam Workshop Hosted by Full Compass

Join us for a 2-Day Steadicam Zephyr / Scout / Pilot Workshop! This workshop covers all fundamentals of Steadicam operating, including work on stairs, running shots, composition and low-mode operation. Tiffen will supply all Steadicam systems with accessories as required, along with Steadicam t-shirts and Certificates of Completion for each student. Lunch will be provided.
