Arboretum Earth Partnership for Families: Nature’s Transformers

Arboretum Walk: Grady Grasslands: West Knoll Oak Savanna and Greene Prairie

Meet at the Grady Tract parking lot at the southeast corner of Seminole Hwy. and the Beltline frontage road, Madison, WI.
We will look for the five species of gentian that grow here as well as asters and goldenrods. No facilities at tour site; some sloping terrain.

Stephen A. Laubach, author of Living a Land Ethic: A History of Cooperative Conservation on the Leopold Memorial Reserve Fee:$5 Laubach will read from his book and examine how the Leopold Reserve demonstrates an innovative effort in private conservation connected to the modern land trust movement. He will also share unexpected findings from his research including rare video footage of Aldo Leopold fly-fishing in northern Wisconsin.

Arboretum Ecological Restoration Work Party: Core Area and Curtis Prairie

Volunteer for restoration activities and learn about prairies and savannas. Tools and training are provided, and groups are welcome with advance notice. Meet at the front steps of the Visitor Center. Work parties are cancelled in bad weather.

Keynote is Your Role in Building Biological Corridors: Networks for Life by Dr. Doug Tallamy author of Bringing Nature Home. Pre-registration required. Fee: $60.
