Baraboo Soccerfest 2014

The Baraboo Area High School boys and girls soccer teams will host a free youth soccer clinic on August 16 for all Baraboo School district students ages 7-18. Pre-registration includes lunch and a tshirt. The event starts at 8:30 a.m. at Steinhorst Park in Baraboo. High School varsity and junior varsity teams and coaching staff will be on hand to help with clinics, skill development and games. An alumni game will take place around 4.

Lazy Beaver Canoe Race

LaValle, WI east of the bridge on Baraboo River
The 14th annual Lazy Beaver Canoe and Kayak Race will be held on Saturday, July 26. While some seriously race, the Lazy Beaver is a fun family event for the others who just want to make the scenic trip from LaValle to Reedsburg. The trip generally takes about three to five hours depending upon your paddling skill and speed. The entry fee is $20 per paddler which includes a Lazy Beaver baseball cap or t-shirt and a cookout at the Reedsburg Depot following the race. The race begins at 10 a.m. with a staggered start of paddlers. The Lazy Beaver is sponsored by the Reedsburg Kiwanis. Any profits from the race will go to help youth activities and programs. Celebrate the 130th anniversary of Baraboo's own Ringling Bros. Circus with a circus and community parade of colossal proportions around Baraboo's historic downtown courthouse square. Featuring antique circus wagons from Circus World Museum, marching bands, clowns, floats, animals and more - even a visit from Al. Ringling himself!
