Guided Intro to Paleo Diet

Paleovation offers a 5-week course to assist participants in eliminating inflammatory foods from their diet. Not only will attendees learn the science behind which foods trigger inflammation in the body, they will also access real-life strategies to transition to a healthful, nutrient-dense and anti-inflammatory lifestyle. Participants will commit to 28-days of clean eating, culminating in a reintroduction phase in order to test personal triggers and discover each individual’s optimal diet.

This fall adults can enroll in UW-Madison Continuing Studies art classes which are held at Wyoming Valley School Cultural Arts Center, 6306 State Hwy. 23 in Spring Green.

On Sept. 13-14, the workshops are: Painting Plein Air with Cynthia Quinn; Traditional Portrait Drawing with Philip Salamone, and Wild Life, Wild Mind: Spiritual Journaling with Julie Tallard Johnson.

During the weekend of Oct. 11-12, any adult can sign up for Exploring Clouds and Water in Watercolor with Amy Arntson; From Old Objects to New Art with Liese Pfeifer, and Writing Beyond the Self with Angela Voras-Hills.

Yoga Basics at McConnell Hall

Dad’s Day: So You’ve Learned to Change a Diaper - Now What?

This dads-only class is perfect for dads-to-be and dads with children from infancy up to two years of age. Topics that are covered are designed for men only and range from the basics to more complex issues including:
*Dad's emotional life
*Transition into fatherhood
*Co-parenting
*Positive and negative forms of discipline
*Maintaining a healthy relationship with your partner
*Intimacy issues
*Coping with exhaustion
*Bonding with baby
*Second-class parent syndrome
*Goals for dad, kids and the family
*Maintaining a balance - as best as possible
*Supporting mom and asking for support

This program offers an opportunity to share your story, be heard and learn.
Dads with babies younger than 9 months old are encouraged to bring their children to class.

EveryWoman's Journal

Journaling is commonly used in chronic pain management, recovery programs and adult learning, but journaling can also be used as a prevention tool. Proactive health journaling helps women translate personal reflection and feedback into actions that increase well-being by becoming in tune with physical messages our body give us and by using self-care techniques.
The insights gained from proactive health journaling - combined with creative self-care techniques and awareness of local health resources - can truly improve the quality of life and health for women!
The everywoman's journal workshop will cover five areas: nourishing awareness; scattered loss, relating to life, respectful caring, and pure joy.
Participants of this 2 hour workshop will receive a specially-designed journal, guidebook, pen and health resource information.

Prenatal Yoga

Prenatal Yoga is a great way to strengthen your body and prepare your mind for the birthing process. In class we will practice modified poses appropriate for all stages of pregnancy and also cover breathing and relaxation exercises that will help during labor. Our prenatal yoga class is appropriate for those new to yoga and experienced yoga practitioners.

Please bring a thick blanket or yoga mat to each class.

Mom & Baby Yoga

An interactive mom and baby class where baby is incorporated into yoga poses. Mom will experience gentle strengthening, stretching, and bonding with her baby. No experience necessary. Please bring a blanket or yoga mat. Babies are welcome to nurse, snack, nap or play with toys. Babies up to 1 year of age are welcome.


Cost: $60/6-week program (includes Mom and Baby)

Class is eligible for reimbursement through Physicians Plus, Unity and GHC.
