On Friday, December 17, 2010, EAA will hold its 8th Annual Wright Brothers Memorial Banquet in the EAA AirVenture Museum’s Eagle Hangar. The dinner, commemorates the anniversary of man’s first successful powered flight, and will feature as its keynote speaker, Joe Kittinger, Jr, the first and only man to parachute from 102,800 feet. Kittinger still holds the record which was set on August 16, 1960.

Join us as Joe Kittinger shares the story of his record breaking jump and his other lifelong interests. Kittinger served in the Air Force from 1949 until his retirement in 1978. After retiring he began ballooning around the country and competing in various balloon competitions. He won the Gordon Bennett Gas Balloon race four times during the 1980s.
