CAMP SPRINGS, Md. (AP) -- Both sides of the country are going to get blasted by Old Man Winter in the next few days.
First, a developing storm in the Ohio Valley will intensify as it moves Northward, bringing a nasty assortment of rain, sleet and snow from the mid-Atlantic to New England. Winter weather advisories are posted for tonight into tomorrow in several states, including Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts.
In the West, the first in a string of strong Pacific storms will hit Washington, Oregon and Northern California, bringing several feet of snow to the mountains and lesser amounts to places like Portland and Seattle.
