DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) -- M&Ms might be dangerous to your diet. But a college student is facing charges for allegedly assaulting a police officer with M&Ms.

Authorities in Des Moines, Iowa, report arresting Sean McGuire at a convenience store after an M&M hit an officer on the shoulder.

Police were questioning a friend of McGuire's in a hit and run, when Drake University security guards noticed the colored candies falling around the officer. The police report says McGuire told officers he was sticking up for his friend. McGuire was released Sunday night on $1,000 bail.

The kid shouldn't have thrown m&m's - it's not worth an arrest but respect your elders. Come on, this kid is in college - you threw m&m's in 5th grade not college. Grow up! Some people will never learn and this world will go to hell - hopefully i won't be alive to see it.

What an idiot. Was he drunk? I'm sure he was...or is anyone really that stupid. If you're worried about tax payer money, make sure the fine is what it cost to arrest him. Some people are such babies.

Are you kidding me? In today's society with crime increasing everyday this is what the tax payers money is spent on?? Some people need to find some humor in their life.
