TERRELL, N.C. (AP) -- Some North Carolina deputies know how to "finger" a suspect.

They were chasing two teens wanted in a series of break-ins and captured a 16-year-old. Deputies confiscated the suspect's cell phone. Catawba County sheriff's Major Coy Reid says soon after, a text message appeared on the mobile phone asking if the kid had been caught by the cops.

Of course, the answer was yes, but deputies typed "no." After a few more text messages, the "friends" decided to meet-up. Deputies were waiting and busted the 17-year-old texter. Authorities say both teens now face several charges, including larceny and breaking and entering.

of course anon 1:29p, gettin a teenage theif off the street is far less important than the means of how the cops caught him.. ur obviously guilty of crimes too, its always the cops fault ur caught

wow that is intrapment at its fulliest. only the kid origianly caught will be charged. no warrent and its illegal to pose and the kid. just another example of cops doing something illegal.

If the 17 year old is honestly that stupid to then text his friend.. he should be caught....
