IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) -- Maybe Donroy Merrival bit off more than he could chew when he got into an argument with another man in Iowa. He's accused of biting off another man's nose last week.

Police say the victim first hit Merrival with a shovel. They say Merrival responded by biting off the man's nose and part of his lip. The nose wasn't recovered but police say Merrival didn't think he swallowed it. Police say the victim will be permanently disfigured. Merrival has been charged because of the incident.
