SOUTH OGDEN, Utah (AP) -- An 11-year-old boy from Utah wanted to get his girlfriend's attention without waking her parents. At first, he and a friend threw wood chips at the window, but that wasn't enough, so the boys went home for heavier artillery. They came back with a slingshot and fired a pebble at her window.

The slingshot worked in getting the girl's attention, but it also cracked the window. The boys immediately owned up to the broken window and promised the girl's parents that they would replace it.

The would-be-Romeo went to his mother, who covered the $160 replacement cost but said the boy was going to have to do extra chores. Thinking that would take too long, the two culprits have been going door to door and asking neighbors if they need any odd jobs done around the house. They've also had to explain why they are raising the money.

Thank you Mom for raising a son who understands accountability. Thank you parents of his friend for raising an equally accountable young man. Thank you parents of the girl for being rational. Thank you young man and friend for being real friends. Thank you little girl for finding a "Romeo" with a good soul - and being such a good soul yourself that he was anxious to get your attention!

I know people that have know each other since 4 years olds as neighbors, gone to school and now 20 years later had married. He could have known her along time...have you ever watch Sweet Home Alabama with Reese Witherspoon. [my favorite in the movie was: so I can kiss you whenever I want]

Good for him for owning up to doing what he did! The only question I have is: An 11 year old, with a girl friend?

It's so gratifying to see young people owning up to their mistakes.....alot of us adults could learn from that!
