BEIJING (AP) -- Oh no, not again! That's what American shooter Matt Emmons must be feeling in his second straight Olympics.
He's again lost a gold medal with a stunning mistake on the final shot in the 50-meter 3-position rifle competition. In Athens four years ago, Emmons shot at the wrong target. This time, Emmons' gun went off before he was ready. His poorly placed shot dropped him to fourth.
But Emmons gets some consolation. He takes home a silver medal from another event. And Emmons' wife Katerina of the Czech Republic wins a gold and silver medal. They hooked up after his flub in Athens.
