HYGIENE, Colo. (AP) -- The bear was about have a cow -- or maybe it was the other way around.
Folks near a Colorado pasture saw a cow and a wild bear nuzzling noses and playing. The bear climbed an apple tree in the pasture and the cow wandered over to investigate.
But a bruin on the bovine's turf might have been too much for the cow to bear. The cow happens to be named Apple, after her favorite fruit. Eventually, the bear took off, with Apple chasing it. Apple's owner Nancy Dayton didn't see the confrontation. But she thinks Apple probably was protecting her territory and her tree.
