LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Blue Shield of California is going naked. The health insurance company is putting up nude statues across the state. Company officials say they want to show how vulnerable people feel when they don't have health coverage.

Nearly seven million Californians aren't in an insurance plan. About 100 of the bronze statues are going up in shopping centers in Southern California today. More will be unveiled next week in Northern California. But Blue Shield isn't going too blue with the naked bronzes. Certain strategic parts aren't detailed on the sculptures.

How about spending the money that they are wasting on bronze statues and provide coverage to a few of the uninsured? What a stupid idea? Like anyone will associate the statues with their little ad campaign/public service message? Educated people will see it for the stupid waste of money that it is.

gasp...imagine the horror if people saw "certain strategic parts" on a statue. i mean i know the laws of the universe would unravel if we saw male and female body parts...on statues. i hope americans never visit europe or you will be in for a shock, yes, NAKED STATUES WITH FULL STRATEGIC PARTS.
