MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - High school football games went on across Wisconsin Thursday night, as many teams opted to move their game forward a day with Friday being Good Friday.

The NBC15 Sports Game of the Week featured two undefeated teams- Monroe at Evansville.

For the Blue Devils, it will be their first home game of the season, plus the home debut of Garth Coats as Evansville’s new head coach. The longtime assistant under former coach Ron Grovesteen has taken over from his high school alma mater, and Coats will carry on the tradition from his college playing days at University of Wisconsin- Whitewater.

“The idea is that everybody is part of this team and that we all share our part, so we pound the rock and kind of like remember it as we’re all doing it for everyone, so we’re all here to work and we’re all here to play,” said Coats.

In the end, Monroe held on to their perfect record with a 40-24 win.
