MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Two residents are safe after a fire in Fitchburg. The Fitchburg Fire Dept. says around 9:45 p.m. on Saturday night, firefighters responded to a structure fire on the 5300 block of Lacy Road.
When fire personnel arrived on scene, a detached garage was fully engulfed in flames.
According to a release from the Fitchburg Fire Dept., both residents of the nearby house were able to evacuate safely and that only one car was still in the garage at the time of the fire.
Crews were able to put out the fire within 15 minutes after arriving on scene and no injuries were reported. Fitchburg Fire says that because the fire was contained to the detached garage, the residents were not displaced.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by Fitchburg Fire Investigators.
