MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - The Green Bay Packers signed another quarterback Thursday, making Jake Dolegala the fifth one on the team’s roster.

General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced Thursday that they had signed Dolegala, a second-year player out of Central Connecticut State. Dolegala went to the Packers’ minicamp as a tryout player.

Dolegala was originally signed with the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted free agent in May of 2019, but the Packers note he was released by the Bengals following the 2020 training camp. Dolegala also spent part of last season with the New England Patriots’ practice squad.

The signing of Dolegala comes in the same week as Aaron Rodgers not showing up for mandatory minicamp. It’s been reported Rodgers remains unhappy about the team’s decision to draft Jordan Love last year, although he denies that.

In addition to QBs Rodgers and Love, the team’s roster includes Blake Bortles and Kurt Benkert.

The team also released defensive lineman Anthony Rush on Thursday, Gutekunst added.
