MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - If you’re heading out to University Ridge Golf Course, there are a few changes to the American Family Insurance Championship. Here’s what you need to know.

Unlike previous years, the tournament is limiting capacity. This weekend, there will only be 7,500 fans allowed each day unlike previous years where crowds could reach around 20 to 25 thousand fans on a single day.

Tournament Director Nate Pokrass says a smaller approach made sense for this year.

“It’s been a process to get to full capacity‚” said Pokrass. “This partial capacity is the right way to go for this year. We’ll be back to full capacity in 2022.”

When it comes to masks or a face coverings, the tournament is following CDC guidelines and PGA Tour policy.

Fully vaccinated individuals will have the choice of not wearing masks indoors or outdoors on tournament grounds. Unvaccinated individuals should wear facial coverings in all indoor locations, including the pro shop and clubhouse, and are strongly encouraged to wear them outdoors when they cannot be socially distant from others.

Face coverings will be provided complimentary to anyone who needs one.

Public bleacher seating will not be available at the University Ridge Golf Course. Tournament organizers are encouraging fans to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets.

“We know it will be hot. We know it will be sunny,” said Pokrass. “If you prefer to bring an umbrella to create your own shade, please do.”

Some suggested viewing locations with lots of space to sit and close to concessions or restrooms are as follows:

  • In front of the Clubhouse
  • 9th green
  • 10th tee
  • 14th green
