Alliant Energy Center begins return to normal with busy weekend of events
MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - The Alliant Energy Center kicked off it’s summer season with a jammed packed schedule last weekend.
High school graduations for DeForest, Monona Grove and Mount Horeb students were held on Saturday and Sunday, in addition to the already well attended Saturday Dane County Farmers’ Market. COVID-19 testing and vaccinations also continued throughout the weekend.
Social distance guidelines were followed and attendees were able to take full advantage of the many provided hand sanitizing locations.
With thousands in attendance, the Alliant Energy Center has taken all measures in regards to sanitation, including the recent installation of an ionized system to remove viruses from the air. The venue has also been given Global Bio-risk Advisory Council (GBAC) STAR™ facility accreditation for its infectious diseases preparation and response.
“We’re doing our due diligence to make sure the Alliant Energy Center is reopening with public health in mind,” Alliant Energy Center Executive Director Brent McHenry said.
Major events previously held at the venue are set to make their reappearance like the CrossFit Games and Dane County Fair. World Dairy Expo will also return in the fall for its five-day event.
