MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Organizers announced hundreds of music making events Friday that will take place across Wisconsin.
Make Music Day is a global music celebration on the summer solstice of each year that brings everyone around the world together to make and listen to music.
This year 13 Wisconsin cities and towns will join together for this special day to present hundreds of free outdoor musical events. As each city in Wisconsin has their own way to celebrate Make Music Day, Madison’s “Make Music Madison” will take place on Monday, June 21st.
For Madison’s ninth year now, Make Music Madison will showcase over 200 concerts at 100 locations including homes, parks, libraries, community centers, businesses, and street corners throughout the city.
The city will become a stage for local artists presenting all styles of music from classical to blues, Indie-rock to Japanese taiko drumming and even a kids harmonica jam.
In south central Wisconsin, music making events will take place in Madison, Fitchburg, Platteville and Waunakee.
You can find a complete schedule of events for Make Music Madison at makemusicmadison.org.
