Gabriella Rusk

Anchor/Reporter, The Morning Show
Madison, WI
Gabriella Rusk

Gabriella Rusk anchors The Morning Show, Monday - Friday. She first joined the NBC15 team in September 2018 as The Weekend Morning Show anchor before she was promoted to weekdays in January 2022.

In her time as a reporter, Gabriella has covered several breaking news stories, including reports on severe weather and historic flooding. She was also one of the first reporters on scene of the workplace shooting in Middleton in 2018.

She started her broadcast career at NBC15’s sister-station in Davenport, Iowa. While at KWQC, Gabriella worked as a news anchor and reporter and also spent time working in the sports department. One of her favorite memories was covering the Chicago Cubs 2016 World Series parade. As a sports fan, she is excited to cheer for the Badgers, Packers, and Brewers – unless they’re facing those teams from Chicago.

Though she originally grew up in the South Florida area, Gabriella is no stranger to Wisconsin; she has spent many summers watching sunsets at her grandparents’ condo in Door County. Her parents now live in the Chicago area and she loves being only a short drive away.

Before moving to the Midwest, Gabriella graduated magna cum laude from Syracuse University with a Broadcast & Digital Journalism degree from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. In her four years at 'Cuse, Gabriella worked tirelessly at the nation's oldest student-run television station, CitrusTV. (Go Orange!)

Gabriella held several internships while in college, including working for WSVN-TV in Miami for two summers. During the 2014 Sochi Winter Games, Gabriella was an intern stationed at the NBC Sports Complex in Stamford, CT and worked to produce content for the Olympics broadcasts.

When she isn’t working, you can find Gabriella giving back to causes she is passionate about. She often volunteers her time with the Madison Reading Project, a non-profit close to her heart as an avid reader. Gabriella is also a Friend of Madison Libraries and enjoys lending a hand during monthly book sales. As part of her introduction to the NBC15 Share Your Holidays campaign, Gabriella was inspired to volunteer with Second Harvest as part of the NRSSH team.
