Hannah Anderson joined the NBC15 News family in August 2017. Before moving to Madison, Wis., Hannah reported, anchored and produced at NBC15’s sister station WSAW and WZAW, the CBS and FOX affiliates in Wausau.

Hannah anchors NBC15 News at 11 and is the team’s investigative reporter.

Hannah’s professional highlights during her nearly four and a half years in north central Wisconsin include launching FOX WZAW and crafting its inaugural newscast, FOX WZAW News at 9 p.m. She also earned a Wisconsin Broadcasters Association award for Best Morning Newscast, and was also recognized by the WBA for Best Spot News for her anchoring during extensive continuing coverage when the community needed answers after a man opened fire in three separate locations, killing prominent community leaders in March 2017.

Hannah also covered the Antigo, Wis., Prom Shooting in 2016, reported on a high-profile homicide trial for a week and a half, and covered the 2016 election cycle when President Donald Trump visited Wisconsin twice as a candidate, and she covered Ted Cruz during a campaign stop. Hannah was also the only member of WSAW/WZAW to report on the Never Forgotten Honor Flight twice. She traveled with local veterans to Washington D.C. and documented the journey to see the monuments in their honor.

Hannah is home in the Midwest. She’s from northern Minnesota and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and Journalism, and a Minor in Business from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minn. Growing up, Hannah played hockey for 13 years, and has since loved getting involved in the community by coaching young women in high school. She coached 14U girls in Roseau, Minn., and the STORM Varsity Girls Hockey Team during her time in Wausau. Hannah has also worked with the Crohn’s and Colitis Take Steps Walk consistently and is an advocate for heart health and organ donation.

Other than the plentiful farmers markets, gorgeous golf courses and Badgers games, Hannah loves that she and her husband Luke are in Madison to grow and get to know the community for years to come.
