Connect With Me

Gabriella Rusk joined the NBC15 team in September 2018 as a news anchor and reporter.

She comes to Madison from the NBC affiliate in the Quad Cities where she spent over two years as a news multi-media journalist, an anchor, and producer. While at KWQC, Gabriella also spent time working in the sports department covering everything from a NCAA DIII National Championship game to the Chicago Cubs World Series parade.

In May 2016, she graduated magna cum laude from Syracuse University with a Broadcast & Digital Journalism degree from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. In addition, she received a dual major in English and a minor in Sport Management. In her four years at 'Cuse, Gabriella worked tirelessly at the nation's oldest student-run television station, CitrusTV, as a sports reporter, producer, host, and as a news anchor. She also held the position of Associate General Manager, overseeing show programming and working to build the alumni network. (Go Orange!)

Gabriella grew up in the South Florida area where she spent two summers interning at WSVN-TV. As an intern she had a chance to cover the 2014 Miami Heat NBA Finals, the 2015 NHL Draft, and experience first-hand Miami Dolphins training camps. In February 2014, Gabriella had the experience to work as an NBC Olympics intern for the Sochi Winter Games. She was stationed in the NBC Sports Complex in Stamford, CT working real-time to edit, write, and produce content for the Olympics broadcasts.

Her family originally hails from the Chicago area where her parents now live in the area suburbs. Gabriella is excited to be closer to family and is no stranger to Wisconsin. She has spent many summers at her grandparents’ condo in Door County.

Gabriella is an avid reader and book lover. She has an ardent passion for American history and her personal role models are a tie between Susan B. Anthony and J.K. Rowling. As a sports fan, she is excited to cheer for the Badgers, Packers, and Brewers – unless they’re facing those teams from Chicago.

If you want to recommend a book, share a great news story, or talk some sports, don't hesitate to contact her! You can find Gabriella on Facebook and Twitter or email her at
