MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for most of southeast Wisconsin.
The advisory takes effect at 9 a.m. Monday for the following counties: Dane, Dodge, Columbia, Iowa and Sheboygan and will continue until 3 a.m. on Tuesday.
The weather impact for Tuesday will be 2 (medium) for a wintry mix of freezing rain and snow accumulation.
Amy Carlson says a wintry mix of freezing rain/snow will affect your travel plans on New Year's Eve. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 9 a.m. until midnight for the entire viewing area. There will be some ice accumulation with the freezing rain and 1-4 inches of snow are possible. The highest snowfall totals will occur in the northern parts of our viewing area. Stay updated on changing travel conditions.
Monday: Freezing rain mixed with snow early, then changing to rain in the late morning. Light snow accumulation possible in the afternoon along with up to .25 ice accumulation.
New Year's Eve: Light snow mixed with freezing drizzle with up to another inch of snow accumulation.
New Year's Day: Mostly cloudy with a few early flurries. Colder.
Wednesday: Sunny and seasonal.
Thursday: Sunny and a little warmer.
Friday: Mostly sunny.
