Police: Suspicious person seen near Janesville elementary school

JANESVILLE, Wis. (WMTV)---Police are investigating a report of a suspicious person near a Janesville elementary school on Thursday morning.

According to the Janesville Police Department, the suspicious person was seen leaving a vehicle near Lincoln Elementary School on Conde Street around 7:15 a.m. He stumbled as if he was intoxicated, and he picked up a gun from the ground on the north side of the school.

The suspect is described as a white man, 6’ tall with a thin build and facial hair. He was wearing round glasses, blue jeans and a green or blue hat. He was in a white 4-door vehicle with a curved rear bumper area.

Police said there is no information that ties this to the Armageddon Gun Shop burglary that’s being investigated.
