ROCK COUNTY, Wis. (WMTV)--- A Janesville man was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Rock County on Monday morning.

Sergeant Kimberly Litsheim of the Rock County Sheriff’s Office said crews responded to a report of a crash on S. County Highway G just north of E. Sunny Lane in the Town of Rock round 8:15 a.m.

An investigation shows a truck driven by a 62-year-old Beloit man was traveling north on S. County Highway G when the driver lost control of the truck on the slippery roads as it crossed a bridge. The truck slid into the southbound lane and struck a car being driven by Brent Boehlke, 53, of Janesville nearly head on. The truck came to rest in the road blocking both lanes of traffic. The car came to rest in the northbound ditch facing northeast.

Litsheim said the Boehlke was extricated from car and taken to a local hospital where he was later died. The 62-year-old man was taken to a local hospital. He’s in stable condition.

Litsheim said both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

S. County Highway G was closed for nearly four hours as a result of the crash. It reopened around noon.

The crash remains under investigation.
