1 dead, 2 injured in Lodi car crash

One person is dead, and two more are injured, after a two vehicle crash in Lodi.

Authorities say it happened at about 5:10 Sunday evening, on County Highway J, near the Richards Road intersection.

The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office says a Ford Escape was heading north on County Highway J, when it went over the center line, and crashed into a Chevrolet Trailblazer that was heading southbound.

The man driving the Escape was taken via Medflight to UW Hospital. The woman in the passenger seat was taken to UW Hospital via EMS.

The woman driving the Trailblazer was pronounced dead on the scene.

Authorities believe all people involved were wearing their seatbelts.

The crash is still under investigation by the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.

Names of the victims are being withheld pending notification of family members.

The Columbia County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Lodi Police Department, Lodi Fire Department, UW Medflight, Lodi EMS, Poynette EMS, Divine Savior EMS, Columbia County Highway Department, Columbia County Medical Examiner's Office, Lodi Shell Towing and Browns Towing.
