JEFFERSON COUNTY, Wis. (WMTV)--- Jefferson County and Lake Mills authorities responded to a crash on 1-94 West Bound at Mile Marker 254 neat Lake Mills Saturday morning.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department, the crash occurred at 8:34AM.
The crash involved 13 injuries. A Pontiac Grand Prix was westbound on I94, mile marker 254 when it drifted to the median shoulder. The driver overcorrected and lost control, colliding with the guard rail and coming to rest. The driver of this crash suffered no injuries.
A secondary crash occurred as a result with a total of 4 vehicles and 6 non-life threatening injuries. This secondary crash caused complete blockage of the westbound lanes. Wisconsin State Patrol is
investigating these two crashes.
Another secondary crash at mile marker 255.8 westbound occurred as a result of the backup. A total of 5 cars were involved and 7 occupants were transported due to their non-life threatening
This also created complete blockage of the westbound lanes. Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department is investigating this crash.
The backup from these crashes reached up to 8.5 miles. All lanes were reopened by 9:56am.
