All of Dane County's 19 beaches and lake access points are currently closed due to heavy rainfall and the likelihood of elevated bacteria levels.
Here is a list of the beaches that are closed as of Thursday, August 23rd:

• Frost Woods
• Goodland County Park
• Hudson Park Lake Access Point
• James Madison
• Lake Mendota County Park
• Marshall
• Memorial Union (Pier)
• Olbrich
• Olin
• Schluter
• Spring Harbor
• Stewart County Park
• Tenney
• Vilas
• Warner
The Public Health Department of Dane County Madison tests water for bacteria levels daily and the beaches will remain closed until the blue-green algae levels decrease.
