MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) A sweet treat for you if you're sick of the wintry weather and it comes just in time for Valentine's Day! Temperatures on Thursday should top out close to 40 degrees across southern Wisconsin. Unfortunately, the mild conditions will not come with sunshine.
Mainly cloudy skies are expected across the area Thursday with some scattered fog and drizzle. By the afternoon and evening, a cold front swinging through could bring a few rain or snow showers. Overall, we are not expecting much precipitation with this system.
The bigger story will be the dramatic temperature swing over the next 24-36 hours. From near 40 degrees Thursday afternoon to the single digits we go by early Friday morning. The warm-up doesn't last long as cold temperatures take us into the weekend with our next chance of accumulating snowfall coming on Sunday.
