The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is offering up to a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for a burglary at a gun shop in Cross Plains on Friday morning.

The Dane County Sheriff’s Office said they are sharing surveillance photos of the suspects and a Camp Trails backpack that was left at the scene. If you recognize a person or item that can help solve this crime, please call the Dane County tip line at (608) 284-6900.

Sheriff officials said deputies responded just after 3:30 a.m. to PT Firearms at 47 Glaciers Edge Square for a reported burglary. The suspects backed a stolen car through the front of the store to gain entry, smashed display cases, and stole several firearms. The suspects were seen running from the store. They left the stolen vehicle behind. The stolen car was taken from a home in the Village of Cross Plains just before the burglary.

The Dane County Sheriff’s Office is working with the AFT and Cross Plains Police Department to find out who is responsible for the crime and recover the missing firearms before they are used in other crimes.
