June is Dairy Month, and you can make it a month you give back.
The entire month of June you can help provide milk to families in need here at home.
“Milk is rarely donated, in fact 67% of all the milk we provide is milk we have to purchase. That’s one of the reasons why we’re only able to provide less that one gallon of milk per year to those we serve. To provide more milk to families, children, and seniors facing hunger in our community we rely on the generosity of our supporters through campaigns like Adopt-a-Dairy-Cow,” said Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin.
Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin said they are on track to provide 70,000 gallons of milk to those facing hunger in southern Wisconsin this year, but they need your help. Help reduce the gap between what is needed and what the foodbank is able to provide (“Milk Gap”) by adopting a dairy cow.
Your gift helps Second Harvest Foodbank provide a rarely donated product to those facing hunger here in southern Wisconsin.
“Sassy Cow Creamery is proud to partner with Second Harvest to provide milk to local families who might otherwise go without milk. We often receive notes from people thanking us for the milk they receive through their local food bank which is a very gratifying experience. Overall we are very happy to partner with Second Harvest and their staff on this great initiative as we both continue to the grow the program each year,” said Sassy Cow Creamery.
If you donate, you’ll receive an adoption certificate.
So far here are the standings for gallons donated:
Penny: 4,340
