MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Advocates for lower drug prices called on Wisconsin lawmakers to pass legislation to change regulations for pharmacy benefit managers, or PBMs, on Thursday.

PBMs are the middlemen between doctors and drug companies, and they're blamed by some for driving up the cost of life-saving medicines.

A petition to hold PBMs accountable now has nearly 11,000 signatures.

The hope is proposed legislation will lower prescription costs and increase PBMs transparency.
