DANE COUNTY, Wis. (WMTV) – All lanes on Highway 51 between Quam Drive and Lake Kegonsa Road near Stoughton are back open after a serious crash Tuesday morning.
The two car crash happened around 5:58 a.m. near Halverson Road in the town of Dunn.
According to the Dane County Sheriff’s Office, a Toyota driven by Darryl Nelson, age 77 of Stoughton, was traveling southbound on Highway 51 when it crossed over the center line and hit a BMW driven by Leticia Lema Mosegue, age 40 of Stoughton.
Authorities said both drivers had to be extricated from their vehicles and were transported to a hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries. The passenger of the BMW sustained minor injuries, but was not transported to a hospital.
The Med Flight was at the scene of the crash, but didn't transport anyone. It took 25 people to get the 40-year-old woman of her vehicle in the ditch.
The crash is still under investigation although authorities believe slippery roads may have been a factor. Highway 51 was closed in both directions for about 2.5 hours Tuesday morning.

According to Dane County Dispatch, there are at least three injuries from the crash. Three ambulances and Med Flight are on the way to the scene.
The Dane County Sheriff’s Department is handling the crash.
