MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - It’s official: Bucky on Parade has raised $1 million for cancer research.
The final auction sold dozens of Bucky statues for the popular public art campaign over the course of October.
Local artists spent the spring months decorating 85 life-size Bucky Badger statues.
Starting on May 7 the Buckies were placed on the streets of Madison and other communities throughout Dane County.
Event proceeds went to several local charities, including Garding Against Cancer, which supports cancer research in Wisconsin, and the Madison Area Sports Commission, which connects youth in need to financial resources to play sports.
