SPRING GREEN, Wis. (WMTV) - Friends, former classmates and the Spring Green community came together to honor Beau Solomon, the UW student found dead in Rome while studying abroad.

Dozens of people gathered at River Valley High School for the vigil. They lit candles, shared memories of Beau and took a lap around the football field where he was a stand-out quarterback in high school.

People attending the vigil tonight describes Beau Solomon as a charismatic guy and a natural leader.

"He was a great guy he had a magnetic personality. He was really captivating he had just could get along with anyone and was super helpful and selfless and just wanted to be a good guy for everyone," Beau's friend and former classmate Anders Wermuth says.

Beau Solomon graduated from River Valley High School last year. He recently completed his first year of study as a personal finance major at UW-Madison.

His friends and community say he was a loved young man who will be dearly missed.

"Beau was like the best friend a friend could be. He did everything for the people he loved, there isn't a thing he wouldn't do," Wermuth says.

River Valley School District officials say they will keep the lights on at the River Valley High School football field all night tonight in honor of Beau.
