MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) -- A woman was injured when she crashed her vehicle through the front of a building on the east side of Madison Saturday afternoon.

The driver experienced a medical incident in the parking lot and lost control of her vehicle on the 2800 block of East Washington Avenue at 12:30 p.m., according to the Madison Fire Department.

Three passengers were able to exit the vehicle, but the driver remained trapped and injured. The passengers stayed with paramedics as firefighters got the driver out from the sedan. She was taken to a local hospital.

Crews examined the structural stability of the building and found no need for emergency stabilization. Public Health Madison-Dane County was notified of the incident, as the property serves as a shared commercial kitchen space for local food vendors.
