Catholic Multicultural Center shows the power of one agency
As we near the grand finale for the NBC15 Share Your Holidays to eliminate hunger campaign, we still need your help reaching the goal of 3.86 million meals to help those facing hunger in southwestern Wisconsin. We are highlighting one of Second Harvest's partnering agencies, the Catholic Multicultural Center in Madison.
The Catholic Multicultural Center in Madison was founded in 1946. It provides basic needs, help with education and employment, immigration legal services and more.
Every day of the week, the Catholic Multicultural Center serves a warm meal to guests along with having a food pantry open two days a week. It is food from Second Harvest that makes serving community members through the food pantry possible.
"For me, it's been a great help. I never thought I would be here using it but you know sometimes we have to make ends meet and it's a pleasure to know we have a hot meal here and it's free," said Raquel Gutierrez.
The Catholic Multicultural Center's efforts are a true example of the power of one, how one agency can make a difference in the lives of so many people.
