Cephus pleads not guilty in sexual assault case

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - A UW-Madison football standout charged with sexually assaulting two women is pleading not guilty. Madison Police say the incidents happened in April.

Quintez Cephus appeared in a Dane county courtroom Thursday morning. No date has been set for his next court appearance.

Cephus is also suing the University.

In a lawsuit filed on Tuesday - attorneys for Cephus allege the University's internal title nine investigation violated his rights. According to the lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court, UW-Madison is refusing to stop its Title IX investigation while his criminal case is pending with Dane County Circuit Court.
