Man arrested in Columbia County for killing dog with a hammer

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Wis. -- After getting upset about a dog urinating in his home, Brandon Shearer admitted to police that he beat the dog to death with a hammer.

Columbia County Sheriff's Office report being called to the Oakwood Estates trailer park in the town of Lewiston on Saturday for a disorderly conduct complaint.

A woman caller reported Shearer was at her house and upset. The woman told authorities that Shearer killed her dog.

When authorities investigated and interviewed Shearer, he admitted to hitting the dog several times with a roofing hammer because he was upset with it for urinating in the house.

This incident is still under investigation. Brandon Shearer was arrested and charged with Mistreatment of animals/cause death, Disorderly Conduct, Domestic Abuse and Theft of Movable Property.
