EVANSVILLE, Wis. (WMTV) - Crews were able to put out a fire in an Evansville duplex Monday morning.

The call came in just after 6 a.m. Crews were called to the duplex on West Liberty Street, where flames could be seen outside. The building has two apartment living spaces.

Officials from multiple agencies responded to the fire and it was contained.

Everyone in the house was able to get out without injury.

Lori Surma, who has lived in the duplex for 5 years, was woken up by firefighters telling her to get out.

"You watch it on the news, but you never think it's going to happen to you and here we are outside and it's happening to us," Surma said.

Officials are not sure of the cause, but have opened an investigation.
