Dane Co. Sheriff gives awards following Paradigm shooting

DANE COUNTY, Wis. The actions of many saved countless lives following the shooting at Paradigm in Middleton in September of 2018.

On Friday, 99 people in Dane County were honored for their service to their communities. It's the largest number of awards given out by the agency.

One of the honorees includes Marcus Geishert. His actions on September 19th, 2018, saved countless lives and prevented further bloodshed at Paradigm in Middleton.

"Marcus provided crucial help that day wherever he could throughout the day. He helped victims who had been shot, carrying one shooting victim to a nearby hotel where they could receive emergency care. He made phone calls to warn other businesses to what was happening," Sheriff Dave Mahoney said.

Deputies who were at the scene of the Middleton shooting were also honored for their actions.
