Dog found dead at park, police search for owner

EDGERTON, Wis. (WMTV)---A dog has been found dead in Edgerton and now police are looking for the owner.

According to the Edgerton Police Department, the deceased dog was found in the area of Dog Run Park on Interstate Blvd just after 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Police said the dog, a male black lab, was found wearing a choke collar with a green leash.

Police say the dog's had several injuries and is currently being examined to determine it's cause of death.

"Things aren't clear, that's what we're trying to find out, see If we can get some answers to the injuries that we're seeing. The obvious ones, like I said, those look suspicious and we want to find out if they were caused naturally or what may have happened," Edgerton Police Chief Tom Klubertanz says.
