MIDDLETON, Wis. (WMTV) -- If you spent Saturday in Middleton, you may have heard the booming sounds of the nation’s oldest continuous drum corps show.
That’s because Drums on Parade kicked off its summer tour Saturday night at Middleton High School.
Volunteers tell NBC15 News it’s something you have to see, and hear, to believe.
“Most people don't understand what drum corps is. The best way I can describe it is it's the best university marching band you've ever seen on steroids,” says Robin Goldberg, a volunteer with Madison Scouts and Bugle Corps. “It's a step above anything you've ever seen. And until you experience it firsthand, you really have no way to describe really what it is."
The drum corps will continue performing all summer. Some will even make the trek to the world finals this August in Indianapolis, Indiana.
