Elderly man robbed trying to use restroom

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) -- An elderly man was robbed near the south side of Madison early Sunday morning.

An 87-year-old man woke up from his residence on S. Park Street to use the bathroom. Two men described as being between 22 and 25-years-old then entered his residence through a window at 3 a.m., according to the Madison Police Department.

One of the men put the 87-year-old victim in a bear hug while the other grabbed the victim's wallet from on top of a table. The victim's wallet contained cash, credit cards and his own ID. The suspects then left.

The victim was shaken up but uninjured. Family of the victim were contacted.

MPD did not release any further information about the robbery.
