Elizabeth Smart to host town hall in Barron
Kidnapping survivor Elizabeth Smart is coming to Barron to share her experience with moving forward.
The Barron County Sheriff’s Department posted the news on their Facebook page on Wednesday morning.
Smart will host a town hall event on March 15 at the Barron Area Community Center. Doors open at 6 p.m. The event will happen from 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Smart was kidnapped in 2002 when she was 14-years-old. She was held with her captors for months before she was reunited with her family.
After 13-year-old Jayme Closs escaped her captor earlier in 2019, Smart reached out to her and commended her for her bravery.
The event is free to the public.
