Emergency shelter to open in Baraboo due to extreme cold

An emergency shelter will open in Baraboo starting Monday due to the extreme cold.

The shelter at the First Presbyterian Church on 416 Ash St. will be open 24 hours a day starting Monday, Jan. 28 at 9 a.m., according to Sauk County Emergency Management Director Jeffrey Jelinek.

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be available. Doors will be closed at 8 p.m. each evening and open at 8 a.m. each morning.

The shelter will close Saturday, Feb. 2 at 9 a.m.
