COTTAGE GROVE, Wis. (WMTV) -- A 61-year-old man from Madison died in a crash on Wednesday. A 34-year-old man from Mazomanie was also injured in the crash that happened near Cottage Grove, according to The Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
On Wednesday, a 2007 Dodge Caliber was going westbound on Interstate 94 and stopped and slowed in the right lane of traffic.
Then, a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado pickup traveling west on I-94 crashed into the Caliber.
The 34-year-old Mazomanie man was transported to UW Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to a press release.
The press release did not indicate if the 61-year-old Madison man was wearing a seat belt.
Alcohol use was tested for, and was not found in both men.
Names of the men were not released, pending notification of family.
At the time of the crash, all westbound lanes on I-94 were blocked, but were opened around on Thursday around 1:00 a..m.
